Rabanne Launches Fine Fragrance Collection

Rabanne is taking its fragrance game to the next level. On July 18th, they will unveil La Collection Rabanne, an eight-piece fine fragrance set, exclusively available at London’s Selfridges and online through Rabanne’s site.

This launch is a significant step in Rabanne’s recent rebrand, which saw the Paco dropped from its name, a move into cosmetics, and the recruitment of musician Troye Sivan as a makeup ambassador. “It’s our most ambitious launch in terms of elevation, luxury, price-wise and the design,” said vice president Jerome Leloup.

Unlike existing popular fragrances like 1 Million and Invictus, which fall under $150 for smaller sizes, La Collection Rabanne targets niche luxury enthusiasts with a 125ml bottle priced at $315. Shoppers at this level crave uniqueness and style, not just good scent. Each bottle in this collection features ‘the eight’, a motif from the 1980s.

To guarantee the quality and uniqueness of each fragrance, Rabanne collaborated with six top perfumers, including Fanny Bal and Fabrice Pellegrin. Highlights from the collection include Rose 1969, with notes of black pepper and patchouli, and Midnight Sex, which offers coconut and orange blossom scents.

Rabanne skipped consumer testing for these fragrances, relying instead on the experienced noses of their perfumers. “We went with our heart and our gut,” Leloup mentioned. Additional retail locations and a Fashion Week presence in Milan’s La Rinascente are planned for the coming months.

In summary, Rabanne’s new luxury collection aims to tie back to its fashion roots while offering a unique and sophisticated scent lineup that stands out in the crowded fragrance market.
