Elis Kiss will be the new editor-in-chief of Vogue Greece, taking over from Thaleia Karafyllidou, as announced by Kathimerini Media, the magazine’s publisher. Kiss has a rich history with Vogue Greece, joining in 2019 as fashion features director amid its relaunch after securing a licensing agreement with Condé Nast.
Starting her career at the International Herald Tribune in Paris, Kiss gained invaluable experience working closely with renowned fashion critic Suzy Menkes. Her deep understanding of the fashion world and strategic editorial insight set her apart, making her a natural successor for the top editorial position at Vogue Greece.
The previous incarnation of the magazine, Vogue Hellas, started in 2000 but closed in 2012 due to the financial crisis affecting its publisher, Lyberis Publications. Now, Kiss is tasked with pivotal roles as she aims to grow the magazine’s readership and reach. Her strategy includes leveraging print editions and optimizing engagement on social media platforms. Furthermore, she will play a crucial role in events like the Change Makers fashion conference, aiming to solidify Vogue Greece’s position as a household name.
Kiss’s appointment promises a dynamic and evolving future for the magazine, aligning with global fashion trends while embracing local flavors. Such strategic moves aim to root Vogue Greece deeply in both the global and local fashion scenes.
