Adidas has once again upgraded its profit forecast, driven by the surge in popularity of its Samba and Gazelle sneakers. The brand anticipates full-year revenue growth at a high single-digit rate, better than the earlier mid-single-digit prediction. Full-year operating profit is now expected to reach €1 billion, up from an initial forecast of €700 million.
In the aftermath of the Yeezy partnership termination, demand for Adidas’ retro lines, particularly Samba and Gazelle, has played a significant role in the company’s recovery. The company grew its revenue by 11% in the second quarter of 2024, reaching €346 million in operating profit compared to €176 million in the same quarter the previous year.
Under CEO Bjørn Gulden’s leadership, Adidas has also pushed forward new models such as the Campus and SL 72 sneakers, contributing to its successful turnaround. Adidas is also set to sell off the remainder of its Yeezy inventory by the end of the year, adding an expected €150 million to sales.
This is the second profit guidance improvement in recent months, indicating strong confidence in the brand’s ongoing recovery and future growth. The post-Yeezy era appears promising as Adidas continues to captivate the market with both classic and innovative footwear options.
