Paris Fashion Week to Include Alessandro Michele’s Valentino Runway Debut; Dries Van Noten’s First Show Without Van Noten

Paris Fashion Week is set to bring excitement to the fashion industry with noteworthy debuts and developments. Kicking off on September 23, 2024, the show will begin with Weinsanto and culminate with Louis Vuitton’s showcase on October 1. Among the highlights is Alessandro Michele’s much-anticipated runway debut at Valentino, after his appointment in March. This follows a surprise introduction of a resort collection during Milan men’s fashion week.

The event will also mark Dries Van Noten’s first show without the designer himself, as the studio team will take the reins. Furthermore, Chanel will unveil its inaugural ready-to-wear collection post-Virginie Viard’s departure, signaling a new chapter for the legendary fashion house.

Notably absent from the lineup are Maison Margiela and Givenchy, which remains in search of a new creative director after Matthew Williams’ exit. Meanwhile, off-White, led by Ib Kamara, is set to showcase in New York.

Emerging designers like Niccoló Pasqualetti and Alainpaul are making their Paris debut alongside established names. Gabriela Hearst will return to the Paris stage for the first time since Spring 2021, and Y/Project is rejoining the schedule after its previous cancellation.

With 70 shows and 38 presentations scheduled, Paris Fashion Week promises to be a pivotal platform for innovative design, offering a spectacular glimpse into the future of fashion.
